Corrie’s Callum Harrison and Julia Goulding are like family

Callum Harrison and Julia Goulding are "like mother and son" in real life.
The ‘Coronation Street’ stars – who play killer Clayton Hibbs and his mum Shona Ramsey on the cobbles – have a close relationship behind the cameras, and the actor has suggested it makes their on-screen chemistry feel more real.
Speaking to the Metro.co.uk, he explained: "Me and Julia have such a good relationship – like mother and son.
"That helped us a lot doing the scenes because it felt quite real – I could react to how that would be because we’re so close and I think so highly of her.
"We’re playing the complete opposite to what we are in real life but it did feel real – it really added to the intensity and you could really feel it."
Clayton will be back on ‘Corrie’ in tense scenes as he escapes from his prison guard at his father’s funeral, and ends up holding Shona hostage with police surrounding the building.
Callum wouldn’t reveal whether or not his on-screen mum makes it out alive, but he hinted his character would hit the point of no return if he killed her.
He added: "I think that would be history for him really, there’d be no coming back from that would there? But you’d just have to wait and see what happens."
Meanwhile, the soap star suggested there is more to Clayton, and described him as "very weak" and frightened".
He said: "He’s very dangerous – he thinks he’s a hard man and will do anything to prove that but as you’ll see, he’s very weak. He’s really scared but he will put on this act – but he regrets the things he does in the long run."
