‘Coronation Street’ have re-cast Dev Alahan’s son Aadi Alahan.
Zennon Ditchett currently takes on the part of Dev’s (Jimmi Harkishin) boy, who he has played since 2009, but he has quit the cobbles to focus on his A Levels, meaning ‘The Bay’ actor Adam Hussain will take his place.
Adam said: "I am excited to play the role of Aadi, putting my own twist on him as the character becomes involved in an important new storyline. "I was already good friends with Tanisha Gorey, before coming to the street, which helps hugely with portraying the bond of brother and sister.
"Everyone at ‘Coronation Street’ has been so welcoming, bringing me in to their family and treating me as one of their own. "I have always associated ‘Coronation Street’ with family and togetherness which is so important at this time. "Having already filmed the start of this story before we had to stop production I look forward to returning as part of the amazing team who bring entertainment and joy to the screens of viewers across the nation."
Adam will first appear in the role on Wednesday April 15th alongside Tanisha, who plays his twin Asha.
Asha is to be at the centre of hard-hitting storyline that deals with the sharing of sexual material, when her teen crush Corey Brent betrays her trust by taking a screenshot of a sexual video of her without her permission, and shares it online.
‘Corrie’ have joined forces with the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) to work on the plot.
