Sue Nicholls wants to "organise" a ‘Coronation Street’ return from the dead for Tracy Shaw’s character.
The ‘Corrie’ legend – who has played Audrey Roberts since 1979 – would love her pal to reprise her role as Maxine Peacock one day, despite the character being brutally murdered by serial killer Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) in January 2003.
Sue told Tracy: "You could come back, you know?"
But the 46-year-old star replied: "From the dead?"
Sue then joked: "I’ll organise that. I’ve been here 40 years, you know."
The pair were reunited for special show ‘Coronation Street Icons: Audrey Roberts – 40 Fabulous Years’, which documented the character’s life on the cobbles.
And Sue also shared some screen time with ‘Hollyoaks’ star Nikki Sanderson, who portrayed Candice Stowe from 1999 to 2005.
When asked what the most valuable lesson Candice would’ve learned from Audrey is, Nikki – who plays Maxine Minniver on the Channel 4 soap – joked: "[It’d be] how to pretend to cut hair?"
Candice was best friends with Audrey’s granddaughter Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), but she left the cobbles in 2005 when Status Quo offered her a job as a hair stylist.
The band guest starred in an episode when they played at Les (Bruce Jones) and Cilla Battersby-Brown’s (Wendi Peters) wedding, and Candice was offered a job on their tour after she impressed when asked to fix the group’s tresses before their performance.
In August, Nikki admitted she feels fortunate about her post-‘Coronation Street’ career.
She said: "I was quite lucky. [After ‘Corrie’], I did some drama, theatre, radio and small parts in films.
"I also did ‘Heartbeat’ and that was so lovely.
"But there was a time when there weren’t any jobs coming in.
"There was an influx of reality programmes and there weren’t many dramas being made."
