Coronation Street’s Sinead Tinker and Daniel Osbourne will get back together.
Rob Mallard – who plays the Bistro waiter in the long-running soap – was convinced there was no chance that his alter ego would get back together with the factory worker (Katie McGlynn) now that she’s engaged to her ex-boyfriend Chesney Brown (Sam Aston), but he has teased that there’s still a possibility of a reunion in the near future.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the 25-year-old actor – who is nominated for the best newcomer award at the National Television Award – said: "Yeah – absolutely there’s a way back because the only reason she isn’t still with Daniel is because when they first got together the drama erupted with the Barlows that she obviously got pulled into.
"Aside from that they had everything going for them. They were both a little bit left of centre, not really part of any crowd – they didn’t have an in-group, they found an in-group with each other, and I think they will always have that.
"When someone can make you laugh you tend to remember them for quite a long time and you tend to believe what you’ve got between you is worth it.
"I think if it weren’t for the being afraid of Daniel because of what she found out, she would definitely still be with him, yeah."
Daniel was left heartbroken earlier this week when he walked into the Rovers Return to find Sinead celebrating her engagement news with friends after she popped the question to the flame-haired takeaway worker as he left to fly to Portugal.
Chesney received a phone call to say that his ex-girlfriend Katy Armstrong (Georgia May Foote) had been killed in a car crash but his son Joseph was still alive in hospital.
As he was about to get into the car to go to the airport, Sinead popped the question but it wasn’t until he was about to board his flight that he accepted her proposal.
