Coronation Street’s Ruxandra Porojnicu hope fans stay with Alina Pop

Ruxandra Porojnicu hopes ‘Coronation Street’ viewers don’t turn on Alina Pop.
The soap star – who will return to the cobbles tonight (10.02.20) for a longer stint after her first appearance in April last year – has hinted one of her upcoming storylines could be quite divisive, and she doesn’t want fans to judge her alter ego too harshly.
She told Digital Spy: "I feel amazing about coming back to the show. I’m very, very happy to be back and I know there’s so much more to come for Alina. I couldn’t be more excited.
"I didn’t always know I was coming back, but I hoped that I would with all my heart. The producers have told me a bit about what’s coming up – enough to make me scream with excitement and joy!
"There is a bit more in store for Alina, but I can’t say too much yet. There are some surprises and I just hope that the viewers will not hate Alina for a few episodes coming up!"
Although Ruxandra wouldn’t reveal too much about her ‘Corrie’ comeback, she admitted there could be drama on the way when Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) suggests Alina should move into his flat with Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell).
The actress – who confirmed her new stint will be "longer" than her first – added: "Oh God! Who would do that? I would run away! I think it’s not a good idea, but it’s a nice gesture from Seb.
"He doesn’t want to let Alina down and wants to be by her side, even as a friend. That is beautiful, but it could also bring a lot of tension."
