‘Coronation Street’s Pat Phelan to be reunited with long lost daughter

‘Coronation Street’s Pat Phelan is set to get a big shock when his long lost daughter arrives on the cobbles.
The killer builder – who is played by Connor McIntyre – will be taken by surprise when Nicola Rubenstein, a case worker for Seb Franklin, Faye Windass’ boyfriend – arrives on the infamous street.
However, both Pat and Nicola will be in the dark at first to the true identity of one another until Pat pieces it all together.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Nicola is Seb Franklin’s case worker. Phelan knew her mum but wasn’t aware they had a child together. However, he recognises Nicola’s surname, does the maths and realises the truth.
"The crux of the story is how she will react, because Nicola was in the dark too. Her arrival will make Phelan take a good hard look at himself but will it be enough to make him change his evil ways?"
Nicola will be played by Nicola Thorp, who famously took on dress code laws in the UK after she was sacked from her temp receptionist job for refusing to wear high heels at work.
She managed to secure 150,000 signatures on a petition and the campaign gained recognition across the world.
Reflecting on what happened previously, Nicola said: "It felt really wrong; I felt embarrassed. I had experienced this kind of thing before and had enough.
"I decided I was going to do everything I could to make sure this wasn’t happening to other women, because I knew my case wasn’t isolated … It might be 2017 but discrimination in the workplace is rife – and I’m not just talking about sexism."
