Alison King has filmed her final scenes for ‘Coronation Street’.
The 43-year-old actress – who is known for playing hard-face businesswoman Carla Connor in the long-running soap – graced the show set for the final time today (28.04.16) as she shot her exit.
And, although the brunette beauty is no doubt thrilled to see the back of the cobbled streets, her co-stars have flocked to their social networking sites to wave goodbye to their well-loved friend.
Ryan Thomas, who is also set to bow out of the programme as handsome builder Jason Grimshaw later this month, kicked off the tributes as he wished her luck in her "new beginning."
Taking to his Twitter account, he tweeted: "So my bestie Ali King leaves today, a new start a new beginning wishing all the luck in the world and 3 weeks time I’ll be joining her (sic). "
Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Vicar Billy Mayhew in the soap, followed closely behind as he posted a picture of him and Alison cuddling up to one another before they kicked off filming today.
He accompanied it with the caption: "Today we say goodbye to the wonderful Ali King. I’m going to miss this gorgeous lady massively!! (sic)"
And Antony Cotton – who plays barman and factory worker Sean Tully – compared his pal’s departure to that of a death and admitted it is a "very sad day".
He penned: "En route to work for a very sad day, as we say goodbye to Ali King. Weatherfield won’t be the same without her. I am bereft #AliKing (sic)."
Meanwhile, Alison – who has portrayed Carla for 10 years – announced she was turning her back on the soap earlier this year following rumours her exit was just a brief break.
She said at the time: "I am actually leaving. It’s been put out there that I’m taking a sabbatical, but I’m not."
