Alan Halsall and Lucy-Jo Hudson have split up.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star and the 32-year-old actress have decided to call time on their seven-marriage after over a decade together, but are determined to stay amicable for the sake of their two-year-old daughter Sienna-Rae.
Announcing the devastating news in a joint statement last night (21.03.16), a spokesperson for the former couple said: "Lucy-Jo Hudson and Alan Halsall are sad to announce that they have separated. They have shared many wonderful years together and will remain close friends. They ask for privacy at this emotional time to allow both to focus on their daughter Sienna-Rae, to ensure her continued happiness."
The heartbreaking news will no doubt come as a surprise to fans as the pair gushed about their new family last year but admitted they were in no rush to have any more children.
Lucy-Jo said at the time: "A psychic has told me I’m going to have twins. We have twins in both our families."
The ex-lovers struck up a relationship in 2006 after meeting on the set of ‘Coronation Street’ the year before when Alan was playing loveable mechanic Tyrone Dobbs – a role he still portrays on the show – while Lucy-Jo starred as Katy Harris.
The brunette beauty quit the soap in late 2005 but has since starred as Rosie Trevanion in the drama ‘Wild at Heart’.
