Coronation Street to revisit Tina McIntyre affair storyline

‘Coronation Street’ is set to revisit the Tina McIntyre/Peter Barlow affair storyline.
Tina (Michelle Keegan) had a steamy fling with Peter (Chris Gascoyne) after he married Carla Connor in 2013 and although Peter now wants to rekindle his romance with Carla (Alison King), she finds it difficult to forget his betrayal.
Tina was murdered by Carla’s brother Rob but the factory owner can’t forget the hurt she felt over Peter’s affair and she decides to test his loyalty when a new machinest with a startling resemblance to Tina shows up.
Chris told Whats On TV: "When interviewing for a new machinist, Carla is struck by how much like Tina one of the applicants is.
"She decides to let Peter interview her and see how he handles it. She is testing whether or not he has changed. But will he pass the test? You’ll have to wait and see!
"Peter is older and wiser, and maybe not as impulsive as he once was. He is going to prove that he can help run the business successfully, and then see what follows.
"But with Carla’s ex Nick Tilsley about to arrive back on the scene, anything could happen!"
Meanwhile, Alison has admitted she thinks Carla and Peter are better off apart, despite Peter coming to Carla’s aid and providing money to help her buy back the factory from Alya Nazir.
Alison told Digital Spy: "I think they are better apart, but I like working with Chris so much that I don’t want that to be the case. I think they are great as that on-off relationship, that ‘will they / won’t they?’
"I think essentially they just love each other and it’s a very kind relationship under the surface, no matter what has gone on. Even when they say they hate each other, they actually know that they don’t.
"That is something in their chemistry – it isn’t something they can do anything about, because they have similarities."
