‘Coronation Street’ stars couldn’t hear themselves speak on a recent night shoot due to ‘The Voice’ filming noisy exerts for the upcoming series.
Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw on the ITV soap, took to Twitter to reveal the talent show – which is presented by Emma Willis – was "booming" so loudly that Corrie’s cobbles filming was interrupted, and while she joked there was an ITV and BBC rivalry, she forgot the programme had moved channels.
She tweeted: "ITV and BBC battling it out. We’re trying to film a night shoot on Cobbles & They are trying to film exerts for The Voice. Can’t hear myself talk over the music and booming presenter (sic)"
‘The Voice’ fans soon let Sue know that the show hasn’t been on the BBC since series five concluded in April 2016, and she returned to the social media site to realise her mistake.
She tweeted: "Apparently The Voice on ITV we’ve shot ourselves. Blue on Blue (sic)"
Despite the noisy interruptions, Sue was delighted to get home and be presented with fish fingers covered in mayonnaise by her partner as a post-night shoot treat.
She wrote: "After a night shoot, u get home and your other half presents Fish Fingers n Mayo treat . Boom (sic)"
Earlier this year, Sue was involved in a freezing cold ‘Corrie’ night shoot on a harbour wall when her alter-ego Eileen clashed with her evil serial killer husband Pat Phelan after she found out about his murder spree.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I didn’t have to do any stunt training, but I did have to spend a lot of time on top of a harbour wall in the freezing cold with horizontal hail and rain – it was great fun.
"The whole team has come together for the scenes and shown a real Dunkirk spirit.
"It’s been the best storyline I’ve been involved with, I’ve loved it, it’s been brilliant and everyone involved has had a blast doing it."
