Connor McIntyre would love to reunite with Kate Oates on ‘EastEnders’.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star has issued a come and get me plea to his former boss – who recently took up the reins on the BBC One soap – and admits he would work on anything with the series producer because she is "absolutely brilliant".
When asked if he would like to join ‘EastEnders’, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I would never say never, I would have a meeting with anyone.
"The first thing I’d say is, ‘What’s the writing like? OK, good.’
"Kate is brilliant. I said to her a long time ago, and this is not a pitch, I said, ‘I’d work on ‘The Magic Roundabout’ with you.’ I think she did an absolutely brilliant job on ‘Coronation Street’."
The 57-year-old star admits it has taken him "a little while" to adjust to his life again after the "adrenaline hits" that came with playing evil serial killer Pat Phelan, but he has enjoyed working away on paintings in his Plymouth art studio.
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards – where he won Best Bad Boy for his role – he added: "I’ve been in the studio making paintings, so I’ve been gainfully employed if you like.
"It takes a little while to adjust to not getting the adrenaline hits every day of hanging off cliffs, or being buried in concrete.
"But enough excitement goes on in the studio."
As well as Connor’s accolade, ‘Corrie’ scooped several awards, including Best Soap.
He added: "It feels great to win an Inside Soap award. I’ve won two of these but this is great because, and I mean this sincerely, I think it’s been Coronation Street’s year.
"As great as the other shows have been, ‘Coronation Street’ have really smashed it this year.
"I’ve nothing but gratitude. I came for three episodes and here we are all this time later.
"Now, no matter what, I’m one of those ‘Corrie’ villains."
