Colin Thackery exits Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions

Colin Thackery was surprisingly eliminated from ‘Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions’ on Saturday night (21.09.19).
The 89-year-old singer – who won the thirteenth series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ earlier this year – had previously wowed the audience with an emotional rendition of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Supermarket Flowers’, but he ultimately lost out to American comedian Preacher Lawson.
Preacher claimed the all-important audience vote, whilst the dance duo Stavros Flatley were the beneficiary of Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer.
Preacher admitted to being overwhelmed by the experience.
He said: "I don’t know what to say, man. I love you. That’s what I want to say. Thank you so much to the judges. All the kind words. I’m so happy.
"I can’t believe I’m here now. When I say I was homeless three years ago I wasn’t joking. I don’t know what to say. Thank you."
Meanwhile, Demi Demetriou found time amid the tension to mock Simon’s eye-catching teeth.
He quipped: "I can’t tell you how much you going mad for us makes us feel.
"But I want to say, this show is amazing. We’ve been all over the world, we’ve done things and been places we never thought we’d be, and it’s because of you guys.
"I’ve got to thank my dentist in Pathos! He’s amazing! I have the same teeth as Simon now."
