Colin Farrell is set to join the cast of thriller ‘Inner City’.
The 40-year-old actor is in talks to join Denzel Washington in the movie which is being brought to the big screen by director Dan Gilroy – who made his directorial debut on the Oscar nominated ‘Nightcrawler’, which he also wrote.
In the movie, Washington, 62, is to play a reclusive lawyer who has spent decades working as a legal researcher for his beloved mentor, but when he passes away he finds himself working at a cutthroat firm on a case that endangers his life.
Farrell is wanted in ‘Inner City’ to play the slick and rich lawyer who hires Washington’s character for his new job.
Shooting on the project is scheduled to begin in March in Los Angeles.
Farrell was most recently seen on the big screen in ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ and he has just wrapped shooting on Sofia Coppola’s ‘The Beguiled’ and ‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer’, for which he reunited with ‘Lobster’ director Yorgos Lanthimos.
Washington is in with a chance of winning a third Academy Award as he is nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in ‘Fences’ at the ceremony which takes place on February 26.
