Clive Russell joins Hollyoaks

Clive Russell has joined the cast of ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 70-year-old actor – who is known for playing Brynden Tully in the HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’ – is set to join the Channel 4 soap next month as ex-conman Billy Brody – the brother of pub owner Jack Osborne (Jimmy McKenna).
He said of his new role: "I have had some great days filming with ‘Hollyoaks’. Working with the legend that is La McKenna was also a delight. He is a wonderful actor and man."
Bosses are determined to keep Clive’s storyline under wraps until it hits television screens, but it’s believed his alter ego will shake up the village of Chester when he reveals a "deadly" secret to his daughter Eva Falco (Kerry Bennett).
He explained: "Along with Kerry Bennett – my on-screen daughter – I just had a ball [on set with my new cast mates]!"
It’s not known how long Clive will appear on the show but he’s certainly no stranger to soaps as he’s previously had roles in ‘Coronation Street’, ‘Ripper Street’ and ‘Waterloo Road’.
Meanwhile, Clive isn’t the only new face to grace Chester as Linda Gray is also set to join the programme in the autumn after being cast as Tabitha Maxwell-Brown.
She said: "I’m thrilled to be going from one iconic series to another and can’t wait to work with the fantastic cast."
The 75-year-old actress was known for playing long-suffering wife Sue Ellen Ewing in ‘Dallas’ between 1978 and 1989.
