Claire King’s outdoor filming ‘not good’ for her arthritis

Claire King admits filming outdoor ‘Emmerdale’ scenes are "not good" for her arthritis.
The 58-year-old star – who plays Kim Tate on the ITV soap – has been shooting numerous exterior segments in recent weeks as part of the Who Killed Graham Foster? plot, but she says the cold is not ideal for her rheumatoid arthritis, which she was diagnosed with aged 28.
She said: "Yeah [there’s a lot of filming outside]. Not good for the arthritis.
"It’s cold, damp, not good. I’d rather be in Spain.
"But they won’t take a hint, they won’t give me time off.
"I can still horse ride, but you’re sat on half a ton of radiator, so that’s fine."
This week’s ‘Emmerdale’ episodes will be played out from different characters’ perspectives as viewers try to work out who has bumped off Graham (Andrew Scarborough), and Claire admitted Kim is in "trouble" on this evening’s (20.01.20) episode.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she added: "I’m in serious trouble tonight. It’s my episode tonight.
"It’s a lot of work for everyone for these storylines.
"But it’s the learning, and the older you get the worse it gets I hate to tell you."
But Claire does also have plenty of positives to take from ‘Emmerdale’ filming, as the star recently admitted she is glad her co-star Alex Lincoln (Jamie Tate) is taller than her – because acting alongside him stops her double chin from being on show.
She said: "I love Alex. The good thing about Alex as well is that he’s a few inches taller than me – as actors tend to be small – so it stops my double chin showing.
"He’s also a hit with the girls at my stable at home."
