Christopher Harper joins Holby City

Christopher Harper has joined ‘Holby City’.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star – who played evil Nathan Curtis on the ITV soap – is set to make a guest appearance in the BBC medical drama on Tuesday (12.02.19).
Christopher will take on the role of Michael Cartwright, the father of teen patient Holly (Emma Curtis) whose condition will worsen, leaving her mum and dad needing to make a tough decision.
The actor was involved in a several hard-hitting ‘Corrie’ scenes as Nathan between December 2016 and February 2018, which resulted in his alter-ego being jailed for grooming Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and his involvement in a sex ring.
As a result of the plot, Christopher became a celebrity ambassador for children’s charity Barnardo’s to help kids who have been sexually abused.
He previously said: "Since joining the cast of ‘Coronation Street’, I’ve had the privilege of helping to shed light on the hidden crimes of child sexual abuse and exploitation.
"Working on Corrie’s grooming storyline has helped bring these issues into the public consciousness, something that organisations like Barnardo’s have been working tirelessly to do for decades.
"Sadly, Bethany’s story is not pure fiction; children and young people all over the country go through this kind of abuse and exploitation every day.
"That’s why I’m delighted to announce that I’ve joined Barnardo’s as a celebrity ambassador. Even after my character Nathan is locked up, I’ll be doing my bit to help Barnardo’s support vulnerable children who have been sexually abused."
