Soccer star Frank Lampard has revealed wife Christine Bleakley has taken his surname.
The celebrity duo tied the knot at St. Paul’s church in London’s Knightsbridge in December last year, and the sports ace has revealed his new wife is currently in the process of having her name legally changed to Christine Lampard.
Frank, 37, gushed that married life was "great", while his celebrity pal Piers Morgan revealed how the duo first fell in love during an episode of ITV’s ‘Play To The Whistle’.
The outspoken TV host recalled: "We were at a wedding and she walked past. Frank said to me, ‘Cor she looks like a bit of a sort!’ Then he went off and they were talking all evening.
"After that, I think he had to go off and play in an England game but when he returned, they fell in love."
Piers also admitted he warned Frank that Christine was "out of his league" when he first saw the brunette beauty in 2009.
He recalled: "I said a few words [at the wedding], I offered to because I was there when they met at the Pride of Britain Awards with Frank and [cricketer] Kevin Pietersen.
"Christine came into the bar and Frank said, ‘Who’s that? She looks a bit of a sort’, which I think is East End for ‘She’s attractive’. I said, ‘She’s way above your league, mate.’"
Meanwhile, Frank has previously described his wedding day as "perfect".
He said: "Everything from beginning to end was magical. You dream about your wedding day and have anxiety about tables and food and people, but from the moment I woke up until the end of the night, everything was perfect.
"I was very, very nervous about doing the right thing and whether I would get too emotional but I loved the service and it felt like everything that a marriage should be."
