Chris Ramsey has left ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 33-year-old comedian has narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition, as he and his dance partner Karen Hauer were voted off during Sunday’s (08.12.19) results show.
Chris and Karen found themselves in the dreaded dance-off against Karim Zeroual and his partner Amy Dowden, after they failed to impress viewers, and therefore gained the fewest number of votes.
It was then up to the judging panel – made up of Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and head judge Shirley Ballas – to watch each pair dance again, before all four of them decided to save Karim and Amy.
But despite the disappointing result, Chris was in high spirits as he said he was "very proud" of how far he had come.
Speaking after the result, he said: "Wow, I am very proud of myself. I never ever thought I would make it past week two, genuinely I had no expectations whatsoever, I am astounded and I’ve got to thank Karen, she is just amazing and is just amazing and so patient its crazy! She is awesome. I had sleepless nights in the build up and there is no-one else who can have made it what it has been."
And his dance partner Karen was equally as proud, as she dubbed Chris as an "inspiration".
She said: "This has been a giggle fest. Thank you judges for being so amazing to us. You are an amazing family man who I admire and you are awesome and I appreciated you literally from week one, not knowing how to walk, and now you are a semi finalist and you have made all of us proud and have inspired all of us and I want to thank you for being awesome."
Chris’ eviction means Karim will dance again in Saturday’s (14.12.19) live final, alongside remaining pairs Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse, and Emma Barton and Anton du Beke.
