Chris McKay has revealed he’d like to make a ‘Lego Justice League Movie’.
The 43-year-old filmmaker served as co-director of 2014’s ‘The Lego Movie’ and also directed current box office smash ‘The Lego Batman Movie’.
And in the wake of the success of those movies in the franchise, he is set to be heavily involved in the ‘The Lego Movie 2’ but his vision for the DC Comics characters in the Lego universe doesn’t stop there – he wants to bring Lego Batman (Will Arnett) together with Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and more for mini-brick adventure.
In an interview with Collider, McKay revealed his plans for future Lego Movie projects. He said: "I love this world and I feel there is still more to do so that’s kind of why we cast a couple of people for one line for things here and there because I’m hoping to keep building in this world and keep playing in this world. I love Batman and I love the universe that we’re creating. I’d love to take on some of these other stories – do stuff with the Justice League – I think there is a lot more we can do with these characters."
Speaking about why he is the right man to guide the ‘Lego’ team on the new movies, McKay explained: "I’m a producer on all of the movies with Chris (Miller) and Phil (Lord) and Dan Lin And I’m going to be working on ‘Ninjago’ and ‘The Lego Movie 2’ from a producing stand point and just because I’ve been through this now and I was on the ground for both movies – I was a co-director on the first movie, getting it to the finish line and obviously this movie to the finish line. Some of the other filmmakers haven’t been through that gauntlet before so helping guide everybody through the animation process through sound mix and that kind of thing."
