Chris Evans hires Top Gear comedy writer

Chris Evans has hired a comedy writer after ‘Top Gear’ audiences failed to laugh at his jokes.
The 50-year-old television and radio presenter has reportedly roped in ‘TFI Friday’ writer Danny Baker to help him with his scripts for the BBC motoring show after his own attempts fell flat.
A source told the Daily Star: "Chris can be a right laugh but it was felt the scripts needed an extra boost
"Danny is a real wit and he will make sure the audience and the viewers are belly-laughing."
Danny joined the writing staff of the show after it was claimed that Chris recently launched a foul-mouthed rant against the ‘Top Gear’ audience for not laughing loud enough during a taping of the show.
According to The Sun, he told them: "Don’t fold your arms, don’t wear black. Take it off – take everything off. Don’t fold your arms, don’t have your hands in your pockets. F***, f***, f***, f***, f***. Don’t be quiet. Talk among yourselves. Jesus Christ! Can you all hear me?"
Chris previously admitted filming ‘Top Gear’ is like nothing he has experienced before.
He said: "I have never experienced anything in my career that comes close to what it’s like to make a single film for ‘Top Gear’, let alone a whole hour show, let alone a whole series. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the world of TV."
Chris and ‘Friends’ actor Matt Le Blanc have replaced trio Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, who have gone on to film their own car show for Amazon.
