Chris Evans has reportedly been given a verbal warning by the BBC for plugging his Channel 4 show ‘TFI Friday’.
The ‘Top Gear’ host was allegedly pulled up by the broadcaster’s big bosses and reprimanded for repeatedly promoting his programme on the rival channel while presenting the Radio Two breakfast show on weekdays.
Chris, 49, came under fire after a listener allegedly filed a complaint to the corporation’s specialist complaints unit in October, according to the Independent newspaper.
An investigation into the complaint confirmed that the funnyman had made too many references to his Channel 4 show while fronting his radio programme on the BBC.
The Editorial Complaints Unit said: "As the producers of ‘TFI Friday’ profit from the sale to Channel 4, it comes within the scope of the editorial guidelines dealing with references to commercial products, organisations and services."
Chris fronted the iconic 90s programme last year, but there are currently no plans for it return for another series this year.
However, for the time being, the presenter has his hands tied up shooting the new series of ‘Top Gear’ alongside co-host Matt LeBlanc, which will hit TV screens in May.
