Cheryl Baker has been booted off ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The ‘Making Your Mind Up’ hitmaker and her professional partner Daniel Whiston exited the ITV show during Sunday night’s (04.02.18) show after losing out in the skate off to Donna Air and Mark Hanretty.
Speaking after finding out her fate, Cheryl said: "I loved it. I was singing all the way through! I think you’ve all been very kind, I know I’m the worst skater but I’ve had the best time and I have the best partner."
And Daniel was full of praise for the Bucks Fizz singer.
He shared: "Cheryl is the essence of ‘Dancing On Ice’ for me. A complete beginner and starts off and tries so hard every week. She’s an absolute delight and we’re very proud of you so welldone."
All the judges – Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo – opted to save Donna and Mark, despite Cheryl putting in her best performance of the series so far.
Meanwhile, it was a great night for Jake Quickenden, who alongside his professional partner Vanessa Bauer, wowed the judges with a sweet routine to James Bay’s ‘Let It Go’ whilst Love Island’s Kem Cetinay and skating star Alex Murphy impressed with an energetic routine to ’24K Magic’, which culminated in Kem doing a breakdance move on the ice.
The night didn’t go as well for weather presenter Alex Beresford, who slipped on the ice whilst doing a move with Brianne Delcourt. He described himself as making a "catalogue of errors" and even managed to cut his finger whilst dancing too. However, there was good news for Lemar, who managed to avoid the skate off after finding himself in the bottom two three weeks running.
The remaining eight contestants will return to the ice next Sunday evening.
