Cher Lloyd was "petrified" of giving birth.
The ‘Swagger Jagger’ singer and her husband Craig Monk welcomed daughter Delilah-Rae into the world in May and the 25-year-old star will always be grateful for the "amazing" midwife who helped her have the trouble-free labour she’d hoped for.
She said: "Before [I gave birth] I was obviously petrified but luckily I had the most amazing midwife, it was the best I could have wished for, just me and my husband.
"It was the most amazing moment of my life, you see the baby and think ‘Oh my God, I’m gonna love you forever’."
Cher married Craig five years ago after two years together and though they have had their "ups and downs", she admitted their marriage is still a "fairytale".
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Loose Women’, she said: "I got married when I was 20, you know when you grow up and dream of that fairytale, I’ve had my ups and downs, like every marriage, but honestly it’s like a fairytale with me and him."
The former ‘X Factor’ star is delighted to be back performing again on her own "terms" as she felt she lost her "sparkle" before taking a hiatus to start her family.
She said: "I’ve been a mum and I’m at home and then I get back into it and I’m like ‘This used to be my life’ and now it’s happening again, I’m so happy to be back. It’s on my terms as well, it’s all been me, the songs, the look…
"Being in the industry took a bit of light out of me, I lost my sparkle and the reason why people loved me in the beginning.
"I feel like it’s much easier to go along with the crowd than to stand out and I feel that happened. I’ve got loads of outfits together backstage and I was like ‘I just wanna wear my hoodie’."
