Chelsee Healey "can’t remember" anything about having an emergency caesarian section.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress had wanted a water birth with her daughter Coco, now eight months, but had to be transferred to a specialist maternity hospital when midwives spotted blood clots in her urine and she then spent 12 hours in labour, but had to be taken for surgery when her cervix failed to dilate.
Speaking to Closer magazine, she recalled: "It felt like the longest labour. I’d only dilated 4cm and Coco’s heart rate was dropping so it was really stressful. They told me I needed an emergency C-section and I can’t remember anything until I had Coco in my arms for the first time. IT was a very surreal moment when I finally met her."
Though the 30-year-old star is no longer in a relationship with Coco’s dad, Jack Molloy, they have stayed friends and she thinks her former partner is a "good" parent.
She said: "Things don’t always work out but I’m very happy an dcontent with my life. Families come in all shapes and sizes and the situation between us is better now than it would have been had we stayed together. Coco goes to Jack’s house in London every other weekend, which is nice, and she’s very well looked after.
"You have to make things work when you’re not together. Jack and I are as amicable as can be – he’s a good dad and that’s all I need from him. My mum moved in with me and she’s a massive help. I’d be lost without her."
Chelsee used to be known for her partying ways but those days are behind her now.
She said: "I still love the odd night out but partying isn’t my priority any more.
"Now that I’m a mum, life doesn’t revolve around the next big party.
"These days, I’d pick a night in with a takeaway and Coco."
