Chelsee Healey has called for ‘Hollyoaks’ to cast "some new fit boys" for her character Goldie McQueen.
The former ‘Waterloo Road’ star cannot see her alter-ego hooking up with any of the current crop of male characters on the Channel 4 soap, so she has appealed to the show’s bosses to introduce "some new fitties" to the Chester village.
She said: "I can’t see her with anyone there at the moment. I think ‘Hollyoaks’ needs some new fitties.
"What Goldie really needs is someone who’s on her level, who she can have a laugh with.
"Someone cheeky, a bit of a charmer, but also someone she can rely on.
"So, come on ‘Hollyoaks’ – get some new fit boys in."
The 30-year-old star admits she and Goldie are quite similar, and she particularly likes it when the "cheeky" character gets up to no good.
She said: "I love that she’s so cheeky – which I can really relate to in real life.
"We’re not all that different. I love how Goldie is always getting into mischief, and I think she’s such a funny character.
"She’s definitely very loyal, like myself, and her sons always come as her priority."
Despite there being similarities between the pair, Chelsee has to wear a wig to portray the red-head, and is glad to take the hairpiece off at the end of a day’s filming.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "Past a certain point in the day it starts to get itchy, but I’ve gradually got used to it.
"I love it for the character – it’s just right – although I’m always glad to take it off at the end of the working day."
