Charlie Winter returning to EastEnders

Charlie Winter will return to ‘EastEnders’ for a "short stint" later this year.
The 23-year-old star will reprise his role as Hunter Owen, who is currently banged up in prison after shooting dead his stepdad Ray Kelly (Sean Mahon) in early January, but it’s not yet known what his comeback plot will be.
An ‘EastEnders’ spokesperson told Digital Spy: "We can confirm Charlie is back filming with ‘EastEnders’ for a short stint, which will air later this year."
Hunter hasn’t been seen on our screens since April 12th when his mum Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) visited him in jail and offered him words of encouragement.
Charlie made his ‘EastEnders’ debut in February 2018, and earlier this year Tamzin admitted she was "very sad" to see him depart the soap.
She said: "I feel very sad about not working with Charlie. He has a very bright future, so I’m excited for him as well."
As well as acting, Charlie also has a rap career and released his first single, ‘Cheeky Chappy Flow’, last December under the name Chaz.
A description for the clip, which appeared on his YouTube channel, read: "Chaz makes his artist debut with this witty and charismatic Freestyle ‘Cheeky Chappy Flow’. Filmed in just under an hour."
What’s more, one of Charlie’s relatives is still in ‘EastEnders’, with Jamie Borthwick (Jay Brown) revealing last October that he is related to the actor.
He said: "Charlie Winter and I are family.
"My great uncle is called Charlie Winter, so when they said there was a kid coming in called Charlie Winter, I was like, ‘Seriously?’
"Turns out we are second cousins."
