Charli XCX downed half a bottle of champagne to dance with Taylor Swift

Charli XCX drank half a bottle of champagne so she could perform a dance routine with Taylor Swift.
The 26-year-old singer has been supporting the 28-year-old star on tour and was so nervous about joining Taylor and fellow support act Camila Cabello for a choreographed routine for ‘Shake It Off’, she turned to booze to get through the segment.
And Charli couldn’t have managed the sequence without the support of Camila.
Speaking on Australian TV show ‘The Project’, she said: "It got to the main show and I was like ‘Oh My God’ like, ‘How am I gonna deal with this?’ So champagne, straight went for it.
"I was like, ‘Half a bottle, OK, let’s go’, got on stage and Camila was just’ like’ leading me around."
And the ‘5 In The Morning’ singer admitted she "freaked out" when Taylor first told her about the choreographed routine because she never dances.
She said: "It was very scary. Because I don’t really dance. I dance in my way, but I don’t dance choreographed pop star routines
"When we got there [Taylor] said, ‘We’re doing a choreographed dance routine’ and I’m Iike, ‘What?’ I’m freaking out!"
The ‘Boys’ singer is pleased the ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ hitmaker’s fans have embraced her on the road, and Charli loves performing for them.
She said: "The Tay Tay fans are cray cray! They know how to party."
The singer has previously stated that her energetic performance on stage means that her vocals occasionally suffer – and thinks her use of auto-tune doesn’t mean she’s any less of an artist.
She said: "I know there’s this stigma that if you use auto-tune, you’re not a real artist.
"I don’t have the strongest voice, my voice is good when I focus and concentrate but I’m not focusing when I’m performing live, I’m partying. It doesn’t make you less of an artist."
