Charley Webb insists son’s haircut wasn’t down to troll comments

Charley Webb says it "would be very worrying" if she had cut her son’s hair because of Instagram trolls.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress – who plays Debbie Dingle on the ITV show – has responded to fans on the social media site after sharing a snap of little Bowie, three, with shorter locks, and she dismissed the idea the new ‘do was down to "negative comments" online.
Responding in her Instagram Story, the soap star said: "I can’t believe how many messages I’ve had asking if I’ve cut Bowie’s hair because of negative comments on Instagram, or online.
"No, the answer to that is no. If I was cutting my child’s hair because people were being negative, that would be very worrying.
"He had it cut because he saw a picture of short hair that was all different colours – red, yellow, blue, whatever – and he wanted it to look like that. He thought it would change colour, obviously it didn’t – but he still loves the hair so it’s fine."
Charley – who also has sons Buster, nine, and three-month-old Ace with husband and co-star Matthew Wolfenden – recently fired back at her critics after online bullies claimed her two eldest kids "looked like girls" because of their long hair.
She insisted: "I just don’t have time for anyone like that. I always find it so bizarre that anyone could be negative towards someone they don’t know, especially someone’s children."
Although she has opened up on it now, the 31-year-old actress admitted she prefers to ignore the nasty comments.
She explained: "I don’t tend to speak out much about it because part of me thinks when you do, you’re sort of giving them what they want, giving them some sort of reaction. I’d rather not react."
