Catherine Tyldesley insists she will not appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ – because she’d be too "terrified".
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star – who played Eva Price on the ITV soap from 2011 to 2018 – has been linked to the show this year, but the 35-year-old actress says she would be "pretty terrible" at the infamous Bushtucker Trials, which feature celebrity contestants going up against numerous creepy crawlies.
She wrote on Twitter: "Just to shoot down the rumours… I’m NOT going in the jungle guys. I mean come on?! I’d be TERRIFIED and pretty terrible at those challenges!! Hats off to all those brave enough! (sic)"
Catherine may not have enjoyed the basic Australian jungle camp amenities on the reality show either – if one of her recent tweets is anything to go by.
In September, she was "mortified" when her family, significant other Tom Pitfield and three-year-old son Alfie, suggested they go camping.
Fortunately for the former ‘Lillies’ star, she managed to comprise with the pair and they are now planning to go glamping – a more luxurious form of camping – instead.
She recently tweeted: "My boys want to go camping… obvs I’m mortified. So I’m meeting them half way… recommendations for #Glamping up North please?!?! (sic)"
Should Catherine enter the ‘I’m A Celeb’ jungle she would follow in the footsteps of several ‘Corrie’ stars, including Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster), whose stint Down Under will go down in show history after she was voted to do numerous Bushtucker Trials, some of which she refused to take part in.
Following her 17-day jungle stint, she said: "When I signed up for ‘I’m A Celebrity’ I didn’t take the trials into consideration because I didn’t think I would do so many.
"I thought I’d maybe do one or two and thought I’d be fine. I thought I would just be in a bikini and make friends, I didn’t think it would be so intense.
"I’m just an emotional person, I don’t see anything wrong with showing my emotions. I found it tough but I enjoyed it at the same time. I absolutely loved being in camp and I loved all my friends."
