Catherine Tyldesley reduced to tears on last day at Coronation Street

Catherine Tyldesley was reduced to tears as she filmed her last ever scene as busty barmaid Eva Price on ‘Coronation Street’ on Wednesday (20.06.18).
The 34-year-old actress – who has played the blonde bombshell on the long-running show since 2011 – was overcome with emotion when her cast mates, camera crew and the writers cheered and clapped as she wrapped her final scene for the soap.
The heartfelt moment was captured on camera as Catherine cuddled up to her on-screen daughter Susie – who she regretfully gave away to her sister Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) shortly after she was born – in what appeared to be a church.
Alison King – who plays Carla Connor in the soap – rushed up to her departing cast mate and planted a huge kiss on her cheek as tears rolled down Catherine’s face.
Sam Robertson – who portrays her on-screen lover Adam Barlow – ran his fingers across the top of her head, before putting his arm around her and kissing her face.
Someone in the background of the video attempted to lighten the mood as she asked: "Do you get to keep the baby?," as everyone erupted into laughter.
Catherine later uploaded the sweet footage to her Instagram account and wrote: "That’s a wrap!!! Time to hang up Eva’s stilettos and wonder bras! My beautiful corrie family I ADORE you. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart xxxxx (sic)"
The talented actress also teased that her departure will be explosive as she thanked television producer Ian Bevitt for making her last scene "such a bloody good one."
She said: "Big Thankyou to this legend for making my last block such a bloody good one @ianbevitt big love boss man – see you on the outside fella xxx (sic)"
But it wasn’t just the cast and crew who were sad to see Catherine go as she was inundated with cards, messages and gifts from viewers on her last day too.
She tweeted: "My darlings THANKYOU for all your kind words, cards, messages, gifts… I’m utterly thrilled that you’ve enjoyed watching Eva. Your support means the world. Blessings and Gratitude xxxxx (sic)"
