Catherine Tyldesley makes use of Corrie’s ‘weird’ massaging chair

Catherine Tyldesley has been making use of Coronation Street’s naughty massaging chair.
Bosses of the ITV soap installed the vibrating seat so that cast members can take a break and unwind in between scenes, but the 34-year-old actress – who is departing her role as Eva Price in the coming months – has been joking about the device doing "inappropriate things" to her rear.
Captioning a video of herself using the chair on her Instagram Story, Catherine wrote: "On the weird Corrie chair that does inappropriate things to your bum. #Lunchbreak (sic)"
She later added: "still behaving inappropriately … but I keep coming back (sic)"
An insider revealed that when the chair is set to full power, it can provide a "powerful sensation" that can make it a bit awkward in the busy studios.
They told The Sun newspaper: "The chair is meant to be there for relaxation so the actors can drift away on a cloud of comfort.
"But when it’s put on full power, it really provides a powerful sensation that brings out some feelings and urges that are less than appropriate for the surroundings."
The chair is believed to have been added to the soap’s green room following gruelling storylines by producer Kate Oates – who has quit her role and will be replaced by Iain McLeod – including tonight’s (07.05.18) suicide of Eva’s ex-fiance Aidan Connor [Shayne Ward], David Platt’s [Jack P. Shepherd] rape and Bethany Platt’s [Lucy Fallon] grooming.
Meanwhile, Catherine fulfilled a lifelong ambition by landing a role in ‘Corrie’, and while she is swapping Weatherfield for travelling the world, she has already set her sights on reprising her role as Eva at some point.
She said recently: "I know people say it and don’t but I really do, I’m a huge ‘Corrie’ fan, the writers have written so well for Eva, and it would be great for Eva to come back. (sic)"
Catherine – who will travel the world with her husband Tom Pitford and their three-year-old son Alfie – will film her final scenes on the soap in June.
Her barmaid alter ego recently gave birth and her half-sister Toyah is to be the child’s parent.
