Cat Deeley hints at SM:TV Live revival

Cat Deeley has hinted at a revival of ‘SM:TV Live’ with Ant and Dec.
Two years ago, it was reported that the popular presenting duo were set to bring back the much-loved children’s television show alongside co-host Cat to mark the 20th anniversary of the programme.
However, it was claimed to have been delayed as Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly already had too much work on with ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, and ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
But, earlier this year, Dec suggested they could bring it back as part of the pair’s celebrations to mark 30 years working together.
He said: "We might do something a little bit later in the year but we’ll let you know when we’ve got more firm plans."
Cat said when asked if she’d be up for joining them: "Of course I would!"
The 34-year-old star has since sparked speculation that will be making a comeback.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "It was so much fun.
"Phillip Schofield once said to us: ‘You must remember how much fun it is while you’re doing it.’
"You never feel it at the time, because it’s live, and you feel a bit of the pressure of it but looking back on it, I think it’s the most fun we’ve ever had."
And when quizzed on whether it will be back, she replied: "Quite possibly…"
Ant and Dec revealed they were one step closer to bringing the show back to life after they pre-booked a studio to film in.
Ant said in January 2018: "We can tell you it’s happening, it definitely happening, I’m on board, Dec’s on board, Cat’s on board. A lot of the old team are getting back together. I think we’ve just booked a studio, I think we’ve got some writers involved. So we’re kind of at that stage really."
However, two months later, it was reported that the show’s comeback had been postponed.
‘SM:TV Live’ aired on ITV from 9.25am on a Saturday morning for three hours.
The award-winning show – which aired between 1998 and 2003 – featured skits including ‘The Beautiful Corrs’, a parody of US sitcom ‘Friends’, ‘Pokemon’ fights, plus the ‘Wonkey Donkey’ game.
