Cat Deeley cried when she was reunited with Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly.
The former ‘SMTV’ co-stars have come together to film a special 20th anniversary documentary for the popular children’s show – which ran from 1998 to 2003 – and the 43-year-old presenter admitted the trio couldn’t hold back their tears when they revisited the programme’s old studio, where the original set had been rebuilt.
She said: "We have filmed a documentary, it’s going to be aired at the end of the year.
"We went back to the studio where we did it. They rebuilt the set. We all cried.
"I walked in and they were doing their interview and Dec was crying and I was like ‘OK you’re crying!’ and then at the end of my interview I was like [sobs], ‘Waaah!’
"We all have a bit of a cry, we take the mickey out of each other, it’s very, very, very cute."
Cat revealed Ant and Dec also got very emotional when they were watching the first cut – but she hopes their tears were because of the reunion, rather than their own work two decades ago.
Speaking on Radio X, she added: "I actually got a text message from Ant yesterday saying he’s seen the first cut and they cried watching it too.
"So hopefully there wasn’t too much of the first show in it otherwise he would be crying at how appallingly bad we were – we were rubbish!"
The trio presented the show – which featured competitions, sketches and challenges – from 1998 until Ant and Dec, both 44, decided to leave in 2001, and Cat departed in 2002.
During the run, the ITV children’s show featured their own sitcom ‘Chums’, a spoof series of ‘Friends’.
After the trio left the show to focus on other presenting roles, ‘SMTV’ was hosted by Steps stars Ian "H" Watkins and Claire Richards, among others, until the programme’s end in 2003.
