Carrie Underwood hopes to be involved in the ‘American Idol’ finale.
The 33-year-old singer – who won the show in 2005 – is upset the show is coming to an end after 15 seasons next month and is keen to be a part of the finale so she can bid it a "fond farewell".
She said: "I understand why they’re wanting to put it to rest after 15 years.
"But I hope to be able to do something in or around the finale and bid it a fond farewell."
Carrie loves performing live and finds it very "freeing" to be someone else on stage.
She added: "It’s almost like getting to play a character on stage – it’s very freeing.
"When you know people have spent their money to come and see you, it means a lot."
But away from the spotlight, the ‘Before He Cheats’ hitmaker leads a low-key life with husband Mike Fisher and their son Isaiah, 12 months.
She told HELLO! magazine: "We’re just normal people. When we’re at home, we’re sitting around in our sweatpants.
"We don’t lead a glamorous life. Here [in Nashville] country music singers are just like everyone else, dropping their kids off at school and picking up their dry-cleaning. It’s a great place to raise your family."
