Cardi B can’t leave her baby for "one second".
The 25-year-old rapper gave birth to her daughter Kulture Kiari – whom she has with her husband and Migos rapper Offset – just two weeks ago, and revealed earlier this week that she has pulled out of her upcoming tour with Bruno Mars in order to focus on her newborn tot.
And now, Cardi has admitted her decision came after she realised she couldn’t bear to be separated from her daughter and leave her with a nanny, as "nobody" could look after her as well as she does.
Speaking in an Instagram Live video on Thursday (27.07.18), she said: "There’s this feeling that, as soon as my baby came out, that I have that is just like … I can’t leave my baby at night, not for one second. A lot of people keep telling me, ‘You need to find a nanny because you gotta start working soon,’ and it’s so hard because I want to be with my baby every second.
"I really love my little baby. She’s so cute. She looks like me, of course. She looks like her daddy, and she looks like [Cardi’s sister] Hennessy … And she just melts me. I don’t feel like nobody could tend [to] my baby like me."
Although the ‘Bartier Cardi’ hitmaker is loving her life as a new mother, she admits she has been left "broken" by the toll it has taken on her body.
She added in the video: "I didn’t [think] that it would take so long for my body to heal. I thought six weeks was going to be good enough – no, bro. My a** is broken. This baby broke my a**."
Cardi revealed earlier this week that she would be dropping out of her scheduled dates as a support act for Bruno Mars, because she wanted to focus her energy on her tot.
She wrote in a message to her fans: "I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this Fall. I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.
"Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road. I hope you guys understand this decision has been the hardest to make but I have to do what’s best for myself and my baby! Thank you Bruno for being so sensitive and understanding."
