Cara Delevingne has shown her support for Angelina Jolie.
The 24-year-old model has taken to Instagram to stand in solidarity for the 41-year-old actress – who split from her husband Brad Pitt last month – saying she admires "anyone who transforms their pain into power".
The blonde beauty shared a picture of the ‘Maleficent’ star as part of the ‘Girl Up’ campaign, which urges social media users to share their "girl hero" in order stand up for female empowerment.
The ‘Suicide Squad’ actress captioned the photo: "My admiration for Angelina Jolie is endless, I also admire anyone who transforms their pain into power. I admire unruly activists. I admire her continued involvement with the UN as a goodwill ambassador. She is ruthless, determined and unforgiving in her efforts to make a difference for Refugee’s. She also inspired me to follow my dreams into acting and have higher goals of one day becoming a director. I have chosen her as my #GirlHero today! Take action today with @girlupcampaign and let me know who your #GirlHero is…. (sic)"
And the ‘By The Sea’ actress isn’t the only woman Cara has branded has her hero, as she also posted a similar picture on the photo sharing website of journalist and activist Gloria Steinem.
That photo was captioned: "Gloria Steinem had perseverance. Her fight for gender & race equality is cemented in our history. Her name will never be forgotten. As a woman in media, I owe a lot to Gloria Steinem. She was unforgiving in her fight. She was a leader. To this day she is dedicated to a brighter future for all. We are forever grateful to her and her work. That is why she is my #GirlHero! Today join me and @girlupcampaign and let me know who your #girlhero is… (sic)"
The ‘Girl Up’ campaign is run by the United Nations Foundation, and aims to engage with girls and get them to take action and stand up for their rights.
