Candice Brown says Great British Bake Off will be ‘amazing’

Candice Brown thinks the ‘Great British Bake Off’ will be "amazing" when it shifts across to Channel 4.
The future of the cooking show has been up in the air since it was announced the broadcaster had snatched the rights to the programme from the BBC late last year, but the winner of last year’s series doesn’t think the format will alter much when it returns to screens on a new channel in the near future.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the launch of Cirque du Soleil ‘Amaluna’ show launch at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Thursday (12.01.17), she said: "I don’t really know what the ‘Great British Bake Off’ will be like next, I don’t think it’ll make much difference, none of us really knew what went on. I just can’t wait to see what they do with it. I think whatever they will be fab."
However, fans are already in two minds about the show as legendary baker Mary Berry quit her judging role "out of loyalty" to the BBC just days after it was announced the channel had lost the rights.
Bosses at Channel 4 are now on a frantic hunt for a new judge to work alongside Paul Hollywood – who was coaxed across by an eye-watering amount of money – as well as a new host after loveable presenting duo Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins decided to turn their backs on the series.
Candice said: "I have no idea what’s gonna happen, I’m sure whoever does it [becomes a new judge and host] will be amazing. Would I ever do it? I think that’s too big for me to answer."
The blonde star walked away from her teaching career after she won the programme last year because she wanted to focus on her baking career but she has admitted she’s yet to secure some work.
She explained: "I only finished working in December and it still feels like I’m holiday a little bit. I have lost weight it’s probably because I’m not eating cake morning, noon and night. My family have always asked me to make cakes, there’s no change there. One of my friends Lauren is always like, ‘Excuse me, have you got any cake?’ I did loads of baking over Christmas, I was baking this morning I’m trying to learn new recipes so I’ve been busy. I had a really great Christmas with family and friends."
There were rumours that Candice would create her own make-up range after she became known for cooking in a pair of killer heels and bright lipstick smudged across her pout.
She said: "No one has been in touch yet, I’m having fun researching though. I get sent a few nice products sent to me which I’m always really grateful for."
