Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall has admitted that she’s "no financial wizard" as she praised credit unions.
Yesterday (16.10.14) the Duchess of Cambridge was joined by ‘This Morning’ presenter Eamonn Holmes and the money saving expert Martin Lewis as she hosted a reception at Clarence House, London, to mark International Credit Union Day.
Speaking about credit unions – which are regulated, not-for-profit community banks – Camilla said: "I do believe that credit unions could be a real force for change in the financial landscape and are truly a cause worth championing.
"I believe credit unions can change the way we talk and think about savings and loans.
"They can encourage those who have the means to save, and bring in from the cold those vulnerable people who struggle to qualify for loans."
The 67-year-old royal then added: "The simple fact is that if more of us support them by opening savings accounts, they will be able to offer more loans to those who really need them."
