Callum Kerr has joined ‘Hollyoaks’.
The ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ star will take on the role of new character George Kiss, a police officer who will make his debut in the village after Hollyoaks High teacher Nancy Osborne (Jess Fox) is stabbed.
He said: "I feel very honoured to be joining the cast of ‘Hollyoaks’ during such a thrilling time for the show, my first couple of months have been brilliant and the cast and crew are very friendly and welcoming."
As well as investigating what happened to Nancy, George will also be looking into the County Lines scandal, which will hit Hollyoaks High this year.
Callum – who played Duncan in the TV adaptation of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ – added: "My grandfather was a policeman, like my character, so he’ll be delighted to see me in the uniform.
"I’ll be part of the team investigating the County Lines storyline, which will hopefully help raise awareness of a relevant topic and shed light on a serious issue."
The Channel 4 soap revealed in its new year trailer that Nancy will be struck in the school playground as she tries to stop a fight between Sid Sumner (Billy Price), Imran Maalik (Ijaz Rana) and another teenager.
Sid is to be heavily involved in one of the soap’s biggest storylines of the year when his cousin Jordan Price (Connor Calland) plans to recruit him and Juliet Quinn (Niamh Blackshaw) in a huge County Lines plot.
Jordan will groom Sid, Juliet, Charlie (Charlie Behan), and Ella (Erin Palmer) to carry out criminal activity throughout the year.
