Burt Bacharach to play Glastonbury

Burt Bacharach will perform at Glastonbury Festival.

The full schedule of acts set to perform at the annual festival in south west England, running from 24 to 28 June, has been released, with the 87-year-old singing sensation revealing he will take to the stage on Saturday afternoon between British stars George Ezra and Paloma Faith.

The iconic singer/songwriter – who penned hits such as ‘Always Something There To Remind Me’ and ‘Walk On By’ – was previously scheduled to perform at the event in 2000 alongside Travis and David Bowie, but was replaced by David Gray after he was forced to pull out at the last minute.

As well as the star, ‘Boom Bang a Bang’ hitmaker Lulu will perform on the Avalon Stage on Friday evening, while the timings for acts on the Pyramid Stage have also been revealed for the festival, which has partnered up with EE to benefit from the largest festival phone charging service.

Motörhead and Florence + the Machine will take to the stage directly before the Foo Fighters on Friday night, while ‘Happy’ singer Pharrell Williams will warm up the crowds ready for Kanye West’s controversial headline Saturday slot.

As previously announced, Paul Weller will perform before The Who’s closing set on Sunday night, with Patti Smith, Lionel Richie and Alt-J also taking to the stage throughout the afternoon.

The full line-up for Glastonbury 2015 – which has partnered with EE for a third year – is available here: http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/line-up/line-up-2015/
