Bruno Langley is charged with 2 counts of sexual assault

Bruno Langley has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who was known for playing Todd Grimshaw in the long-running soap – is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on November 28 after a woman in her 30s told police she’d been sexually assaulted by the actor at a music venue on Swan Street, in the Northern Quarter, on October 1.
A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman told The Sun newspaper: "Bruno Langley has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and will appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 28 November 2017. At around 1am on Sunday 1st October 2017, police received a report that a woman in her 30s had been sexually assaulted at a music venue on Swan Street in the Northern Quarter."
Following his arrest, Bruno, 34, announced that he’d quit the ITV soap and thanked the cast and crew for working with him over the past 7 years.
He said: "Sadly, I will no longer be working on ‘Coronation Street’.
"Acting on the show has been the fulfilment of a personal dream. Playing the role of Todd Grimshaw since I was 17 years old has been a huge part of my life, and an absolute honour. I would like to thank all of my friends who work on the show for their love, friendship and support during this extremely difficult period."
Although bosses of the show have confirmed Bruno’s contract has been cancelled in the wake of the allegations, it’s believed he will appear as Todd on screen until Christmas because those scenes have already been filmed.
A source said: "Scenes featuring Bruno will continue to be screened until December 24. These were filmed before our inquiry started. Subsequent storylines beyond this point have been rewritten."
