Bruno Langley in tears over Ryan Thomas’ Corrie exit

Bruno Langley has admitted it was "hard to hold back the tears" when he filmed his final ‘Coronation Street’ scenes with his departing co-star Ryan Thomas.
The 33-year-old actor plays Todd Grimshaw in the ITV soap and admits when the day came to act opposite Ryan – who plays his on-screen brother Jason Grimshaw – he found it very emotional because they have known each other for so many years.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (27.06.16), he said: "Just doing those scenes where Ryan is leaving [was hard] … we grew up together. He was 16 when he joined the show and I was 17, so it was really hard to hold back the tears and that’s real."
Bruno also revealed how his alter ego Todd leads to Jason’s departure from Weatherfield.
He said: "Todd has the best intentions, trying to stop Jason from being implicated in the murder [of Callum Logan] and to also stop Sarah [Platt) from being blamed, he’s blamed it on Tony [Stewart] because Tony is dead and they’re trying to work out the situation for the best. We’re going to hold the fort should Ryan ever wish to come back."
Bruno – who left ‘Corrie’ in 2007, before returning to the cobbles in 2011 and then as a regular in 2013 – knows too well how it feels to want to experience life outside soapland.
He said: "Ryan has been there for 15-16 years, so it’s his turn to go out and explore the world. It was pretty crazy [when I left]. It was good though, it gave me time to find myself and I had my son Freddie almost immediately after leaving so that changed everything … for the better."
