Britain’s Prince Harry surprises villagers

Britain’s Prince Harry surprised locals as he took part in a country walk for charity.

The 31-year-old royal passed through the quiet village of Little Walsingham in Norfolk, east England as he continued a 1000 mile trek from Scotland to London in aid of Walking With The Wounded.

Shannon Warby, who works for Walsingham Farm Shop, baked sausage rolls for the soldiers but didn’t realise His Royal Highness would be passing through too.

She told BBC News: "I said to him ‘Do you want a sausage roll?’ and he said, ‘Yes, I would love one. Thank you.’

"He did say they were actually beautiful. He is a true gentleman. It was an absolute honour and an amazing thing to happen to our village."

Prince Harry is joined by six soldiers, who have been wounded whilst on duty, and the group have already raised £75,000.

They departed from Scotland on August 22 and will end their walk at Buckingham Palace on November 1.

This is the third walk the Prince has taken part in for the charity, having previously trekked the South and North Pole.

Writing about his support for the charity on its official website, he shares: "Walking With The Wounded continues to champion our extraordinary wounded service personnel and highlight their determination and courage to face future challenges following injury on the battlefield, whether physical or cognitive.

"Their inspirational expeditions have already impacted so many and I hope they will continue to impact many more."
