‘Breaking Bad’ star RJ Mitte has signed up for the new series of ‘Bear Grylls’ The Island’.
The actor – who rose to fame playing Walter White Jr. in the hit series alongside Bryan Cranston as his drug lord dad – has thrown himself into the "challenge" and is currently filming the thrilling survival show in Panama in Central America.
A source said: "RJ loves to challenge himself and this will be right up there. After ‘Breaking Bad’ he’s not been short of acting work but jumped at the chance to do ‘The Island’."
RJ has joined the likes of ex-‘Coronation Street’ actor Ryan Thomas and ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Lucy Mecklenburgh on the Channel 4 programme and though he suffers from cerebral palsy, he can’t wait to get stuck into the physical tasks.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "The tasks the contestants have to complete are very physically demanding and he cannot wait to get stuck in."
The show sees 10 celebrities dropped on to a remote island off the Central American country’s coast and told to undergo a series of challenges set by Scout leader Bear.
Runner Iwan Thomas and ex-swimmer Sharron Davies have also signed up for the series which is due to air in October.
Meanwhile, Bear recently admitted he wants to go on an adventure with US President Donald Trump.
The 42-year-old TV star – who previously shared the spotlight with Barack Obama on his NBC programme ‘Running Wild with Bear Grylls’ – has said Trump would be a dream guest on one of his shows, but he’s not sure the President would be well suited to the task.
He said: "It would be amazing. Of course. And, there’s no doubting he’s tenacious.
"Obama liked stepping out of his comfort zone, and that attitude is good in the wild. He told me it was one of the best days of his presidency.
"But I don’t know … Donald Trump is a person who likes to be king and the one thing I’ve learnt in the wild is you’re never the king. You’ve got to learn to put the crown down."
