Bradley Walsh "welled up" when a contestant won on ‘Beat The Chasers’.
The 59-year-old presenter will front the upcoming game show – which is a spin-off from ITV daytime favourite ‘The Chase’ – and admitted he was left emotional after a participant triumphed to take home "a lot of money".
He said: "One contestant I was really welling up over the fact they’d won the money. It was a very poignant moment. They ended up going home with a lot of money – it was great!"
The programme sees brave contestants go up against top quizzers Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha and Shaun Wallace alone in attempt to take home cash.
Contestants will have options such as taking on fewer quizzers for less money, and Bradley revealed that the studio audience would get involved in the games.
He explained: "The audience played a fantastic part in the show. They were terrific. I was turning around and saying, ‘What do you think?’ and they’re saying to the contestant, ‘Only take on three players’, or ‘Only do this’, or ‘Do that’. It was a very interesting dynamic."
The ‘Doctor Who’ star insisted he would love to take on all five Chasers if he was playing, although he admitted he probably wouldn’t cope very well.
He teased: "I’d love to take on all five. How far I’d get I don’t know. I think I’d buckle under the pressure."
Bradley recently explained that the most exciting part of the show would be see the Chasers learning how to play as a team as they usually face contestants individually.
He remarked: "I think sometimes they found it difficult and that was what was interesting to me. They’re not team players. They don’t normally play as a team. For them to try this out was an experiment to see how they got on."
‘Beat The Chasers’ starts on Monday (27.04.20) at 9pm on ITV.
