Bobby Davro claims he was knocked to the ground and kicked in the stomach after a business lunch.
The 60-year-old comedian’s ex-wife Trudi Jameson had arrived to pick him up from the Ivy Brasserie in Cobham, Surrey, on Monday (08.04.19) when she became embroiled in a war of words with another woman, which led to a guy getting involved.
Bobby claims he attempted to trip up the "very aggressive character" because he was worried he would be on the wrong end of a headbutt, but says the guy "knocked him to the ground" and then whacked him in the stomach.
He told The Sun newspaper: "The two women bumped into each other and were having words when this very aggressive character took things way too far and we ended up pushing and shoving.
"I tried to trip him up because I thought he was about to headbutt me but he managed to knock me down and kicked me in the stomach.
"I was winded. It was a dangerous, cowardly thing to do and my ex panicked and called the police – it was ridiculous."
Bobby – who has three kids with Trudi – "cannot believe" he got caught up in the row.
The actor – who previously played Vinnie Monks in ‘EastEnders’ from 2007 to 2008 – added: "I have no idea why it all blew up.
"His missus and my ex used to be friends but clearly don’t get on now.
"I only have a relationship with my ex-wife for the sake of my kids and still can’t believe I got caught up in one her rows."
Police confirmed they were called to the scene and that the "matter is closed".
They said: "The suspect and victim accepted a community resolution outcome and the matter is closed."
