Bob Dylan announces 10-date UK tour for later this year

Bob Dylan has announced a 10-date UK tour for later this year.

The ‘Like a Rolling Stone’ singer, 83, will play three nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall – as well as two at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh, and Wolverhampton Civic Hall, in November.

As with his last tour, the shows will be phone-free, with fans set to be asked to put their mobiles in secure pouches that automatically shut when in the venue – and unlocks when outside the halls.

Bob will also play Bournemouth’s Windsor Hall, Liverpool’s M and S Bank Arena and Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena.

He has been touring his 2020 album ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’ since 2021, playing dates in London, Glasgow and Oxford a year later – with his time on the road dubbed the ‘Never Ending Tour’.

One of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters in history, Bob has won 10 Grammys and being nominated on 38 occasions.

Making his name with 1960s ‘protest’ songs including ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’’, Bob has racked up six UK top 10 singles and nine UK number one albums.

His hits have been covered by everyone from Jimi Hendrix, whose ‘All Along the Watchtower’ is considered a seminal version of the track, along with The Rolling Stones, The Byrds, Joan Baez and Adele.

The Royal Albert Hall has a key place in Dylanology, with a 1966 live recording called ‘The Royal Albert Hall Concert’ marking the moment he was hit with heckles after “going electric” to the jeers of the crowd – with one shouting he was a “Judas”.

Despite the name of the record, it was actually recorded at Manchester Free Trade Hall – but has retained its title and been released as part of the Bob ‘Bootleg’ series.

Dylan’s stage time for the 2024 Royal Albert Hall concerts will be 8pm, and 7.30pm at all other venues.
