Billie Piper would enjoy acting in nude scenes if she could "remove the sex".
The 34-year-old actress is no stranger to filming scenes stark naked in projects such as ‘Secret Diary of a Call Girl’, but says she finds the sex scenes that go with them to be "annoying".
Speaking about the number of nude scenes she has handed to her, the star said: "What’s annoying is that they are fun roles, if you can remove the sex. It’s the sex that makes it annoying. Otherwise they are interesting stories, interesting women with chequered pasts."
Although Billie has worked on a number of nude scenes in her career, she also starred as the companion to The Doctor in the BBC sci-fi drama ‘Doctor Who’ for two series, a role which she says "changed everything" for her.
She said of the show: "I’m quite a homebody and I missed London so much. Also, it makes you so famous, a show like that. It gave me little memories of being a pop star — you can’t go anywhere without it being a thing, and I found that quite hard again. But it changed everything for me. And I have never worked with a nicer bunch of people in my life since."
Meanwhile, the ‘Penny Dreadful’ actress was recently honoured at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards with the Natasha Richardson Award for Best Actress, which the beauty dubbed as "over-whelming".
Speaking in ES Magazine’s Evening Standard Theatre Awards issue, Billie said: "It was a great night, such fun, such an over-whelming experience. I just smoked an enormous amount of cigarettes and was shouting all night long. I got very, very drunk, but I didn’t realise I was drunk. I think I was pumped with adrenaline."
The full interview with Billie appears in this week’s issue of ES Magazine, out Thursday November 24.
