Billie Faiers’ father nearly missed her wedding

Billie Faiers’ father nearly missed her wedding after he took a "sleeping tablet" and "had a few drinks".
The 30-year-old reality star tied the knot with her fiance Greg Shepherd at a luxury resort on Kuramathi in the Maldives earlier this month, but the star’s big day was nearly put in jeopardy when she and her sister Sam Faiers received a call from Gatwick airport saying that the bride-to-be’s father "couldn’t travel".
Speaking on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Lucy Horobin, Sam said: "My dad got marched off the flight. He took a sleeping tablet. He didn’t even make the flight. He hates flying.
"He had a sleeping tablet and a few drinks. And he didn’t even make the flight. They were like, he can’t travel and it couldn’t have got any worse."
Billie added: "When we got that phone call we thought it was a wind up. We thought surely not, the father of the bride."
Sam replied: "And It’s not like you can jump one a quick flight to Spain. It’s a scheduled flight. We were worried he was gonna miss it."
Following Billie’s wedding, Sam, 28, says when she and her partner Paul Knightley eventually tie the knot she wants to have an "epic" hen do with all her bridesmaids, but wants her wedding day to be a very "small" affair.
Sam added: "Well – total opposite [to Billie’s]. Put it this way, I won’t be having a 100 people and going all the way to the Maldives, but it was amazing.
"Billie and Greg are entertainers, they are always doing something so we always knew their wedding would be humungous and epic.
"I think I do want to get married abroad but I think I will do a really epic hen, like Vegas, but then I want my wedding to be quite small.
"I like Italy. When Paul and I met, every year, we’ve always gone to Italy. So I feel like I would probably so it there and maybe half the size."
Tune in to ‘Heart Breakfast with Jamie and Lucy’, weekdays from 6am-9am.
