Bill Oddie was offered a "humongous amount of money" to do this year’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ – but he turned it down because it clashed with a bird fair.
The 76-year-old TV presenter and renowned bird watcher admitted he was offered a large wad of cash to enter Channel 5’s infamous house earlier this month, but he had to reject the offer because he didn’t want to miss the Rutland bird fair.
Taking to his Twitter account, he said: "I was offered a humungous amount of money to do ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, but it clashed with THE BIRD FAIR at Rutland water this weekend (sic)."
And ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ isn’t the only reality TV show the comedian has turned down as he’s also snubbed the chance to do ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ twice.
He explained: "Reality shows I have been asked to be on – ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here (twice), ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and ‘The Voice’ (sic)"
Although fans are no doubt devastated that Bill didn’t join this year’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ line up, viewers have been kept on the edge of their seats over the past two weeks as the likes of Sarah Harding, Paul Danan and Jemma Lucy have clashed.
On Tuesday (15.08.17), the reality TV show saw ‘Ex on the Beach’ star Jordan Davies be the latest housemate to get evicted from the house.
Jordan – who is best known for being the former flame of ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ babe Megan McKenna – was the third housemate to get the boot from the Channel 5 reality show during a live episode, following the evictions of ‘Mob Wives’ star Marissa Jade and former ‘Apprentice’ hopeful Karthik Nagesan last week.
